Music Marketing

NOTABLE HIGHLIGHTS:

Nelly – Country Grammar

LISTEN:  Nelly - "Ride Wit Me" (aka Must Be The Money song)

August 2000

As an intern, I pitched to the Music Director a random song off his “Country Grammer” album for a possible single.  She added and immediately became #1 on KUBE 93 FM.  Universal Motown Records took notice and rushed to add as their next single.  This was Nelly’s first Billboard #1 hit and was never planned to be a commercially released single.  Interns really can make a difference in an artists career.

BT – Emotional Technology

LISTEN:  BT - "Somnambulist" (Simply Being Loved)

August 2003

Acted as Marketing, Radio, and Publicity Coordinator on the project.  Using my connections, I took the initiative to introduce the single to the Los Angeles KISS FM Music Director.  With multiple influences from other Nettwerk team members, the Music Director added into rotation.  The single became an instant hit locally and rolled out across the country via other KISS affiliates and radio stations.  The single debuted as #1 on the Soundscan Electronic Chart.  Internally, I serviced two singles to worldwide DJ’s and radio stations, promoted album through street team, online publicity, and tour support.
